YOUR LIBRARY CARD HOW MANY BOOKS FOR HOW LONG Graduate students may check out up to twenty books for three weeks at a time. After three weeks expires, you may renew your books online for an additional three weeks by visiting the VIEW YOUR RECORD link from the library's online catalog. Clicking on that link will prompt you for a username and password. This username is different from your typical campus and library username. Here, you simply enter your first and last name as it appears on your student ID. Your campus-wide ID number is still your password. If you are unable to renew your books online, you may call the library's circulation desk at 903-832-5565 ext. 3215. Online Internet and phone renewal is only permitted once, so after that six week period, you must return your books to the library to be rescanned to verify that no one else has requested that the books be held for them. The library cautions you NOT to check books out for other people or allow other people to return your books as you will still be held responsible for the items. You cannot renew items via the Internet or phone if they are already overdue. OVERDUE PROCEDURES Items not returned to the library by the due date stamped in the back or not renewed before they become overdue are charged a fine of 25 cents a day per item to a maximum of $10 per item. As a courtesy, overdue notices are mailed to the address on file in the library's computer system. Unpaid fines will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges. Failure to pay fines or to resolve charges for damaged or lost items may result in the withholding of grades, transcripts, diplomas, or the blocking of future registration.
